I am a dedicated Dublin parent and local activist. Born in Redwood City to Korean immigrant parents, I grew up in Saratoga, CA and went on to attend UCLA where I received a BA in Psychology with a business emphasis. My professional experience is in HR and recruiting, business analysis and planning management. With my husband of 23 years, I have been a Dublin resident for 20 years and have watched our city grow exponentially. My children, who are 13 and 9, attend Dublin schools, so I know firsthand the impact growth is having on all our children. With my educational and professional background, I know we can do more to ensure our children gain the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the needs of today’s competitive workforce.
For 8 years, I have volunteered extensively in our schools as an Art in Action and Junior Achievement docent, Jog-A-Thon coordinator, Dougherty Parent Faculty Club (PFC) Vice President and President, and School Site Council (SSC) member, and served as representative to the Superintendent’s Council for two years. Last year, I was also privileged to sit on a principal’s hiring panel, and last spring I was part of the Second High School Input Committee. Outside of our schools, I have also volunteered in Destination Imagination, a creative engineering and team-building program, as a team manager for the last three years.
I am strongly committed to continuing my efforts in shaping a better education for the future, fiscal accountability and transparency, and finishing our second high school.
